The Mining Innovation, Rehabilitation and Applied Research Corporation (MIRARCO),
founded in 1998, is a not-for-profit applied research and technical
service company formed through collaboration between Laurentian
University and the private and public sectors.
We promote mining innovation and provide a bridge between researchers
and industry. The result is a long list of clients
and collaborators who have experienced
the benefits of researching with MIRARCO.

CMT - Centre for Mining Technology
CMT provides applied research and development focused on
monitoring and control systems, simulation of operations research,
systems engineering and mine equipment and systems automation.
CMT finds ways to optimise productivity and reduce the cash
cost of mining, with an initial focus on Best Practice Operations
Analysis related to optimising equipment, people and material
utilisation. Currently, CMT is doing research in the areas
of waterjet technology; equipment design & process simulation;
virtual reality in Health & Safety applications; and assessing
how scheduling and costing factors affect profitability at
different production levels. More... |

CIMTEC - Centre for Integrated
Monitoring Technology
Hosted by Laurentian University
and managed by MIRARCO, CIMTEC provides technology for the
deployment of applied field monitoring, data transfer, processing
and visualization. The Centre can customise and assist with
field monitoring campaigns, implement telecommunication technology
to transfer data from the field to CIMTEC's server farm located
in the Willet Green Miller Centre.
Once data has been acquired, CIMTEC provides the software
expertise to assist with analysis and visualization while
also providing secure storage and backup facilities. More...
